The mechanics of this unit involve 2 water compartments one compartment for water only that is in contact with the ultrasonic component and another compartment where the water and essential oils are mixed that is not in contact with the ultrasonic component

This reduces the possibility of the essential oil clogging the ultrasonic component and substantially reduces maintenance and cleaning

The most recent ones the young living home diffusers cylindrical pyramids with a 3color light show of the ultrasonic category both quit due to oil erosion of the ultrasonic disc at the bottom

They were not designed to be fixed although i was able to find out who made them for yl but parts arent available any more
