    The first impression was that these speakers have fuller sound stage compared to an older micro hi-fi system they replaced, but the sound is nothing too special.

    I have tested the limits of the wharfedales just to see what they can handle, and i can't turn the volume up high enough to distort them or lose sound quality.

    Rear bass ports were a concern, and, as feared, they really caused a boomy, muddled bass output in the bookshelf placement.

    I actually think that you could spend 5-700 dollars more on another brand and not get a better sound for the money.
