Pros

Any of your computers can access it; i suggest mapping it as drive z on all of your pcs. A stripped down version of their remote access program comes with the my book. Very pleased with the wd my book ethernet storage.

I have windows xp automatically mount the drive, once again, a snap. There are plenty of hacks for this device allowing it to do much more than simply store your files.

Cons

The harddrive is very very slow when hooked up through the router. The parts and software on the mbwe are cheap and proprietary.

While it is possible to connect to the drive through the smb protocol, the manual fails to mention the device's default name.
