Just for testing i tried it via the vga 1st to the older 32 tv that has a vga port on it and it worked no problem of course there is no audio output via the vga

On a windows computer you can hit the windows key usually down by the space baralt key and at the same time hit the letter p and you get the options to duplicate or extend the display on the 2nd monitor

I then switched from the hdmi to the vga source on my tv and it switched fine so you could have it connected to 2 monitors one being a hdmi and one via the vga and switch back and forth if you ever needed to do that

I included pictures sorry for the low light in the pictures should have used the flash so you can see that it connected and was duplicating the display

However it says this in the instruction manual that you cannot connect to 2 monitors at the same time so it will only display out to either hdmi or vga at a time not both at the same time

I do see some reviews talking about how the display flickers or how it didnt work
