Pros & Cons

Pros

The gun heats very fast and gets much hotter than my old 100 watt gun, as it should. Good on circuit boards and smaller wires like 10ga wires.

Cons

Weller is no longer owned by weller. This is not the old, good quality that weller was known for; this is inferior junk.

High temp soldering gun takes a full minute to melt thin solder, let alone heat the intended work! It has a 2 minute duty cycle (then wait 5 minutes), which means half my solder time is gone before i get to work! Tried soldering small (like 18 gauge) ...  Read More

The coil inside the gun looked great, the switch, trigger and case are junk. The entire electric section flops around in the case. Sloppy tolerance for switch slot allows trigger to tilt and not make contact with switch.

Going through amazon for warranty is a waste of time. My advice is to stay clear of this product and find another company with active customer support. Returned & received new one.

Quality

It worked great and did the job i needed without overheating the wires and ruining the insulation

Using it for some 1012g solar wiring makes good heat transfer and quickly

My dad had a soldering gun for decades and finally stopped working

I used it for a couple of years with no problem but a few months after the twoyear window picked it up and it would not work at all

Price

This gun while a bit expensive is worth every penny

I wouldnt discount it for claiming to be a professional tool whether it is or not

Otherwise a good value for the money

Dont cheap out on a chinese knockoff for the price this is well worth it and i expect will serve me for many jobs to come

Shipping

Prime got it to me within about 10 hours

Competitiveness

I wouldnt discount it for that unless there is some better design in the same price ballpark one that gets very hot quickly
