Pros

My synology makes this super easy. Arrived with no bad blocks. Good so far.

This is the quietest large drive i've listened to. The units are very quiet and relatively vibration-free. Runs cool so my fans are set to quiet. I test drives in an open sata usb cradle before installation.

The pics i attached show two drives with 2078 and 1830 power on days in a qnap nas. A85 acs-2 ata sata 3.

Cons

The drive started making a horrible grinding noise and then was completely dead. The disk is fine but that sound is terrifying.

Replacement drive would be refurbished. They say up front that they will void the warranty if your packaging is not perfect.

Tb hdd can't be loaded. Can't be initialized by nas or when attached to a win 10 box. Can only use 6tb of new drive since drives have to match or be larger than the smallest drive. Could not get the synology device to recognize the drive. It can only ... Read More
