Thus far, I'm pretty much in love with this clipper. I am a 'casual' user, not a pet groomer. I have two Standard Poodles and typically groom one of them, myself, but frequently touch up feet, face and tail on both. As such, I own two Oster A5 single speed clippers and many, many, many A5-style blades that are made out of different material.The thing about this clipper is the clipper, itself, although it seems a lot of people get hung up on the blade, which I don't really understand. Over my A5s, I like this clipper better because it is*Noticeably lighter weight*Noticeably quieter*Much easier to hold in my hand because of the contoured shapeThis clipper does, indeed, have less vibration than my A5s (which are older, admittedly, but I do maintain them well with professional servicing). This was the real test: my spooky dog *doesn't* like corded clippers but will tolerate some battery-operated Wahls (not A5-style, smaller trimming clippers). However, he is okay with these clippers both on his face and his legs, and I think that's because of the quiet and the lack of vibration. They aren't as quiet and light as the battery-operated clippers, but these are going to power through much heavier coat than those little clippers could manage.With regard to power, both my dogs are pretty short right now and I don't feel like I've made a fair test of the capability. However, I've done everything on the lower speed, so expect the higher speed to provide some real umph. I'll update this if I get a chance to try them on some heavier , matted coat.The clippers, themselves, definitely don't heat up any more than my Osters. I don't know that I would say they are significantly cooler in my hand, though.The blade, itself... so far, I'm a bit meh about it. I cleaned it and lubricated it before use but felt that it was heating up more than I liked, so I switched to some of my older, tried and true blades and found that they were heating up at about the same rate they did with the Oster. Possibly, this blade just needs a longer break-in period than I've given it so far, and I'm probably not the heavy-duty user that is going to be able to really put the blade to a long-term test of durability.  Read Less
