It was easy to set up and was using in short order although the instructions could have had better illustrations

You do not need the additional digital optical audio cable amazon indicated people have bought with it

I hooked the transmitter up to the tv via optical cable and usb or attempted to but the included toslinkoptical cable wouldnt plug in fully to the optical out connector on the back of my samsung tv as the cable isnt keyed and wouldnt fully engage and stay plugged in

Initially the sound came through loud and clear for broadcast directv but there was no sound for netflix nor amazon prime

A simple tv sound setting change from dolby digital output to pcm audio output solved the issue just in case anyone else has a similar issue

The instructions say to turn off the headphones when not in use to conserve the battery but they dont say how to turn them off

I tried other products that didnt work headphones and transmitters and i think they didnt work partly because they were effectively separate
