Just as a note if you are mounting the scope on an ar15 with an a2 front sight post these rings will not get you high enough to see over the post

The locking nuts cannot back off the screws because the screw ends are staked to retain them

Due to the light weight of these rings i am better able to select a load based on accuracy and desired recoil characteristics and the lifetime warranty on these rings means should anything unexpected happen vortex will stand behind it and not give me a hassle over replacement parts or repairs

The joint is actually around the 45o clock of the ring so you can just rest your scope in there without having to hold it down
