Theyre not lightweight compared to other lesser binoculars but the weight is worth the quality
Optic quality is good not the same as 2000 binos but miles ahead of 40 binos

Other comparisons worth noting the lens caps on the vortex are much easier to put on and take off of both ends which i am very disappointed in being that i am returning them for the slightly better optics of the leupold

In short if i was on a 200 budget i would not hesitate to purchase the diamondback 8 x 42 binoculars

I found a pair of 8x28mm in a trash bin by the bay here in florida

I recognized that they were vortex even though they were covered in barnacles i cleaned them up and they looked good but focus was locked up
