They're still visible in a dark room--which is indeed desirable! Each port as an on/off switch. Blue indicator lights beside the ports show which ports on in service.
I am a gadget *. I have a lot of gizmo that need to connect to my computers, but never enough ports. For instance i have my logitech headset plugged into one and that's labeled headset.
The charging port is very suitable for use in places with limited sockets. It seems that we are connecting and charging more and more with all this new technology these days.
The usb hub has 7 ports. Great for adding extra usb 3. That hole is an opening for a 3.

If any complain about this one is that it’s a little pricey as you can buy similar products from other brands for less money

I personally dont like the power switches because they are easily hit when you dont want to hit them which then disconnects that port

You may notice in the about this item description of the hub the second bullet point tells you that the power that can be delivered to the four ports is limited by whatever usb port you plug the hub into and if you need more power then it must be externally applied

However sometimes a laptop won’t deliver that much current because if it has to deliver that power while running off of its battery then it will suck the battery dry in no time
