Yes it does what i wanted it removes hdcp although ive only used it with 1080p and it will probably wont work with high frame rate 4k

The main issue now was that i couldnt go through the receiver and get the tivo to fully work hanging up on menu choices etc but the tivo would work fine if the hdmi didnt go through the sony receiver and instead went direct from the tivo to the tv

That led me to conclude that the response time for the hdcp must be too long and the components were just erroring out
