If left on sometimes the lens can rattle as it is looking for movement a known issue most users now know about so put it off it is only for slow shutter speeds and hand held camera work anyway

Each switch is threepositional and allows the tripod leg to go out to a normal angle a medium angle or a shallow angle this one is shown on the amazon description image

My giottos went on ebay a week after i got this nothing wrong with it but it was a studio tripod really i just bought the wrong one
