The magnet is strong for the kinds of things you'll be using this to retrieve - it held a beefy strut-to-knuckle bolt with nut no problem, just as a test. All grabber tools should be built and designed like this!

This vastools flexible claw pickup tool is a godsend. Very sturdy, holds its shape and the claw is very strong.
Used it to clean up my car. Used this tool today in my job as a plumber. Worked great in retrieving a test ball from the bottom of a shower drain.
Cons
The wire which connects the claw to the piston appears to have twisted apart and sheared off from itself. The claw spreads outward and will not pick up smaller items.

The claw grabber function is somewhat limited by the size of what you can grasp fully or if you can get a good hold on a piece of something that wont fit in the extended grabber claws

If you can see what you are trying to get with this it has a better chance of working for you vs trying to get something with it curved around and you dont know exactly where to grasp onto it like through plumbing pipes
