Pros & Cons
Pros
These little gems are invaluable when the need arises to drill perpendicular holes. Clamp the guide to the center at the hole location and drill.
Use shims and spacers as needed to get the guide into position. It fits easily in my drill box. Its just the right size for a pocket or for your tool box.
This is perfect and works great. Saved me time and frustration. Super easy. It just works.
It really is handy. Like others have said, this tool is an engineering marvel. Incredibly simple and useful tool.
Cons
This drill guide is very small, the photos are deceiving. The height of the guide seems insufficient to guide the drill on a straight path, especially if you take into consideration the half the thickness is cleared away to provide for the v section.

I use this to drill perpendicular holes in metal bar stock with a hand drill so it is subject to more wear from bits being in contact with it

Imprinted hole sizes are hard too small to read for my tired eyes

I dont believe that will happen and if you use the tool so much that you do end up getting excessive wear then l think it will have done some pretty sterling service by then

The hole is only as straight as the surface of the board

I intend on losing it almost immediately but at least it will be in a protective sleeve

I had to drill long and precise channels for hanging floating shelves and i did not want to take any chances without a drill press
