Need to use the usb3 port on your computer (you will see a blue plastic piece in the slot.

This will use the internal video graphics from you computer processor so this is not something you would use for gaming.

When i first received the adaptor, it did not work.

This later turned out was because my usb cable was perhaps faulty.

Before i tried the second adaptor i got a new usb cable extender for my laptop and the hdmi display worked without a glitch.
