I have tried dongle hubs and i am always disconnecting them when using the sp this way

It works fine for my 256gb usb3 flash drive but does not work reliably for a usb hard drive

I think this is a limitation of the power supply coming from the sp it can run these drives from the usb port if they are not split but cannot power them if the drive is split

Initially i ordered one of the amazon warehouse discounted hubs and got the wrong hub that was for the rt

The rt hub blocks the sp3 power supply but this hub does not

The solution is to disconnect the hub plug everything into it then plug it back into the usb port

All in all it is a great little hub for what i do and there is nothing else out there that works as well particularly if you need the card reader

I took one star off because it is too expensive for what it is it blocks the display out on the sp3 and because of the above connectivity issue
