It comes with an instruction sheet with barcodes to configure the scanner turn the beep on and off set up barcode fonts carriage returns line feeds so you can configure this to work with your software packages specific needs

After you can start scanning to your hearts content and everything will be tracked

Once you plug the usb cable into your computer the computer auto loads the needed driver and all the basic bar code codes are already loaded by default

If the beep that goes off after each scan bugs you you can even turn that off with one scan of the gun

The only thing it would not scan is a barcode on a screen but to be fair most barcode scanners does not
