I had to ship one back for free they picked it up also to get a replacement from amazon because the first one would not turn on at all

Came with two very common watch batteries that you can get at any walmart

However check battery contact tabs to be sure they werent bent or depressed during shipping

Battery compartment cover was off floating in ziplocked bag and the battery contact inside the gauge not the cover plate contact itself had been pushed down prohibiting contact for operation when batteries were first placed in it
