Great radios for the outdoorsy family. While the estimated range, like most of these style of radios is...optimistic, they do work really well and are very easy to use. We use them when we go to any family outing where we may be separating from one another or on family vacations, we used them overseas between two cars that we had rented because it was cheaper then getting a dedicated phone line for our time there. They would reliably work up to a couple of miles apart before starting to lose reception so long as it wasn't too hilly or windy. The provided charging dock also makes it easy to ensure that these are always charged up. In the past when we'very owned similar products the fact that they used a lose wire like a cellphone charger meant we didn't use them often because they were never charged when we needed them. But these ones we are able to keep them charged without issue since they have a nice dedicated home and dock. Just grab them when you need them!  Read Less
