I personally just needed gloves to deal with grip slippage because my palms are naturally always sweaty, i think it's a genetic-related thing because they sweat even in cold conditions, therefore it drastically interferes with my gripping ability when weight lifting

I'm also not a pussy looking for that extra padding to take the punch for me during my intensive lifting days as i also tend to build up my grip strength
