    Needless to say, by chapter 3 i was hooked and could not put the book down; i just had to see how it ended and did not turn to the last couple of pages and cheat.

    Plus, unlike most westerns i've read lately, it does so without forgetting (or blatantly denying) that people in the old west weren't all white and that racism and sexism were constant and unavoidable.
