Pros
Fine side makes an excellent knife edge, not razor sharp but very sharp. Great sharpening system. Used it to sharpen 6 year-old-chisels in great need of repair.
Cons
Part of the fine grit side started to bubble and tore. Not good enough.

These plates are deceivingly heavy like a few pounds and the large working surface is great for using honing guides

When i purchased this item last year i had a minor defect in the surface of the coarse side where it was missing a small strip of diamond coating like 11634 wide by two inches diagonally but it really didnt cause any problems

Upon seeing the minor imperfections in the pictures i had sent the seller offered to send me a replacement even though they didnt bother me i was mostly interested in learning how to properly usecare for the stones

My one 34con34 with the ultra 3001200 combo stone is that when the stone is wet it can be hard to tell one side from another its not marked especially after a lot of use when the 300 wears down a bit

I stamped a 34334 on the side of the metal stone so i could know with a quick glance which side was which
