The case is made out of plastic but it is a firm strong plastic n protects the outer edge of the camera

Consthe most important problem with this product is that the part of the frame that wraps around the battery compartment is visible in photos and videos i have attached a video clip showing this

Also the positioning of the visible portion is directly beside the nadir aiming toward the selfie stick which means that videos pointing away from the user will be fine
