I have a google chromebook pixel that has a usb type c port that is used for both charging and data transfer

I dont have a usb type c phone to use the checkr or current monitor apps to check for spec compliance for this cable so i cannot say definitively if this cable is spec compliant or not

The cable works very well for this function and is very robust however didn’t tested in other applications
