The drawings are very helpful, as are the user comments.

The only negative i have about the book is that the author is excessively biased towards older full keel sailboats.

For those of you who haven't seen the book yet a word of caution - there are no photographs of any boats in the book.

In addition, i found one glaring error in the chapter on the cape dory 25d.

The other drawings for this boat are definitly not of a cape dory 25d either.

You can expand your search by looking for boats by the same designer and / or the same builder.

Most of the purchase prices of course, are much, much lower than they were at its 1999 publication date, but the boats themselves are the still among the best choice for those that want a seaworthy vessel that can be financially sustainable despite the financial commitment that comes with an old boat… after all, the initial purchase price is just the beginning when considering slip/marina costs, maintenance/repairs (exponentially higher, the bigger the boat), haul-outs, not to mention the unexpected costs for those that venture long-distance.
