Its not a barely there layer of rubber that doesnt provide much protection

I was very happy to note that even though this case is made of a silicone or rubber it is accurately represented as being a matte style cover

The case hugs the phone just right so that it protects the back and sides without interfering with the screen or microphone functions at all which i was a little concerned about given the size of the screen and how close the microphone slots are to the edge of the phone

They are out of the way so they dont interfere with the function of those items but they arent so large that they produce a weak spot in the cases overall protection of the phone
