The first one is in the white case, and has been functioning for me flawlessly for 6 years. Very pleasantly surprised. I feel like it definitively would do this.

The apc protects expensive electronics from voltage spikes and sags. I'm smoothing out the current from a gas/ propane, 6,600w, 120v generator. I believe that it protects electronics form line fluctuations that can short the life of electronics.

The only noise it makes is when the relays kick to switch to a different internal transformer. My 30 year old hafler amp, * preamp and other stereo, and computer components (and printer) have not failed.

Cons

Tripp lite line conditioner has a non-standard plug that will not fit a standard usa outlet. The voltage meter on the unit varies between 118-123 volts so the claim of clean 120v power is false. It's crazy to watch as it shows over voltage then low vo...  Read More

it makes a clicking sound, but it does not make a sound. It emits a constant hum, regardless of whether anything is plugged in. The hum is loud enough to be very annoying. It also has obnoxious coil whine.

In theory cleaner input to the power supply should also mean cleaner output for better stability and less need for error correction

Seriously this is not a linear regulated power supply

Dont burn it with a laser beam it does not like that
