Pros & Cons
Pros
The first one is in the white case, and has been functioning for me flawlessly for 6 years. Very pleasantly surprised. I feel like it definitively would do this.
The apc protects expensive electronics from voltage spikes and sags. I'm smoothing out the current from a gas/ propane, 6,600w, 120v generator. I believe that it protects electronics form line fluctuations that can short the life of electronics.
The only noise it makes is when the relays kick to switch to a different internal transformer. My 30 year old hafler amp, * preamp and other stereo, and computer components (and printer) have not failed.

it makes a clicking sound, but it does not make a sound. It emits a constant hum, regardless of whether anything is plugged in. The hum is loud enough to be very annoying. It also has obnoxious coil whine.
