Pros & Cons
Pros
Fits in the rack mount perfectly. Allowed power feed outside rack and saved expense of electrician installing another electrical outlet. Whatever is precious enough to warrant being rack-mounted, deserves good surge protection.
The covered reset and power switch helps protect from accidental activation. I have quite a few devices with wall warts, so that feature is a necessity.
Route is wall -> apc -< tripp lite outlet - > monitor / 2 servers / modem + router. The laptop computer computer is plugged in when needed.
Cons
The cord on this unit is only 14 awg, which is thinner than on the similar cyberpower unit. Standard phillips and flathead screw drivers are not able to get a bite to remove the screw. Had to drill it out; huge pain.
Highlights
Quality
I also run my laptop controller phone charger and with the amps running just below clipping and this unit has not tripped its breaker
This is a all metal professional quality sturdy power tap
