You could hang a hammock or a person, it doesn't matter.

This is basically two sections of rope with three knots.

The idea is great, however as many other reviews have stated it is just rope with pre-tied knots in a bag.

Good luck, i would personally wait for the price to even out before purchasing though, it is just rope.

The trek light gear go anywhere rope kit is a very simple and effective way to hang a hammock, but now that i've seen what it includes (merely two 7' ropes with some knots tied in at regular intervals), i agree with other reviewers that it is overpriced.

It's good quality rope, but if you're a tinkerer like me, you may already have comparable quality rope around the house for free, or you could buy some at a hardware or boating store for less than the $15 i paid for this.
