The eye mask secures to the pillow fabric by means of a very soft hook and loop fastener (think velcro or dura grip but softer).
This is the best airplane sleep gadget i've ever owned, and i own them all.
My head did not bop, my neck did not get tweeked and the light did nog disturb me, even sounds were muffled a bit.
The mask blocks out all light completely.

100% worth it if you don’t mind having something covering your eyes
