    I bought this to upgrade my 64gb 2012 mba, and the installation could not have been simpler.

    The new drive's packaging looks like it was made by apple, and the external enclosure looks like it belongs with the mba (though a white usb3 cable would have been a little more apple-ish).

    The install was done using the included instructions and using the os x diskutility for cloning a ssd.

    Turned on laptop and got flashing folder with a question mark inside, took laptop to local apple store where they finally diagnosed the problem as a hd failure.
