Ive been using a few trackr bravo devices for a while now
If your trackr is separated from your phone the app will show you the last known location on a map and once you get close enough the app will then lead you to your trackr
Or you can set it to ring your phone if you go too far away and vice versa
The app does need to be running in the background of your phone and occasionally needs to be refreshed to maintain communication with the trackr but this also allows your phone to work as a beacon for other peoples trackrs that may be lost
