Frankly the firmness of the button is a good thing because it cant accidentally close if you adjust your grip on the handle and brush the button

On further inspection i noted that the tag inside the canopy see photo shows that this is a model 8344 umbrella

A look at totes website confirms that both the 8344 and 8537 have 98 cm canopies

Also i learned that the 8344 is a discontinued model called the auto openclose mini umbrella not the international carryon as described in this listing
