When compared to a lg window unit, this one is quieter. Of course, when the compressor kicks in, you hear it. This is good but if your a light sleeper it wakes you up as the white noise shuts down.

The only real downside is that the ac can't be fully controlled by the front panel *. The ac works great and the customer support is superior. It's 'energy saver' feature is spot on accurate and works like a charm.

Cons

I have owned many window ac units in my lifetime and the tosot 8000 btu is far and above its competition

The remote is incredible and you are a fool to buy any competitor unit for a higher price
