    After setting the air pressure you perform the reverse sequence, release the pin valve and then disconnect the pump from the schrader valve.

    Yes there is a little pocket of air left in the valve body itself that produces a little puff when removing the pump but before this, when you release the schrader pin, the shock/fork air chamber is sealed closed at the pressure you set.
