These are great far better than anything else sold for mole control the best way to use these is to find a frequently used mole run with several fresh dirt piles smash in the last 6 feet or so of the tunnel then set the trap back 1 to 2 dirt piles away from the end of the run then take a flat head screw driver and dig two tracks perpendicular to the mole tunnel in line with the jaws on the trap that way the trap fits perfectly and will work like its supposed to when its triggered then shove the trap down into the grooves and push the area under the trigger down further than the surface of the ground so that the trigger has a place to seat then set the trap with the foot pedal and cover the trap up with a 5 gallon bucket so that pets arent tempted to curiously mess with the trap and get injured in less than 24 hours every single time ive trapped a mole unfortunately if you have a vole problem the jaws are too big for voles but maybe theres a vole trap from tomcat in the works this trap saved my yard from certain destruction the moles had made it halfway across my yard and once i bought this it was all over
