However i bought it for catching a large snapping turtle in my pond and i think a trap specifically built for catching turtles would be a better option in this case

I bated mine with some canned tuna and a handful of frozen shrimp dropped into a mesh bag and zip tied to the back of the trap

Trapped three big suckas in one week already

D put fishheads in zipperbags and secure bag to inside of trap with zip ties and set trap at edge of pond
