Pros & Cons
Pros
It seems to have excellent capability for use while indoors. Had never owned a tokina lens previously and had not paid much attention to the brand.
The tokina is just as sharp as my tokina 100mm macro 2. It is sharp as a tack and produces beautiful quality photos even at f/2. Wide focal length and aperture make this lens perfect for astro-photography.
The tokina at-x 16-28mm works perfectly for all of that. Attaching a shot, at 16 mm, f2. F20, 125 iso. The zoom is perfect for making adjustments for photos in tight places.
As a canon shooter, my preference is to buy canon l lenses. Most lenses are a bit softer wide open though, so this is hardly a problem.
Only neg is the weight, but hey, it's got a lot of glass in it.
Cons
This lens has a high failure rate even if it has a well known manufacturing defect. Should have a 3 year warranty. Not worth the hassle with buying and returning online.

It wont set any records but unless you plan to have viewers of your photograph going over every detail with a magnifying glass it will get the job done

This is very handy when photographing at night where the autofocus is useless and manually focusing takes time

Lens flare is definitely present in this lens as it is with most ultra wide angle lenses but to a much more controlled fashion than tokinas older lenses
