After a 20 minute search i found the gasket about 10 feet away

Apparently there was no adhesive holding the gasket in the chuck and the air blew the gasket out when i removed the chuck

I accidentally unscrewed the air hose going to the dial one time and had to play around with the order of the spacerswashers that fit in there to get it to work right again
