Pros & Cons
Pros
The a7iii does a great job of correcting the white balance. I'm just a beginner in photography, and it's just a hobby i enjoy. This is not a setback for me.
No more fiddling with filters at sunrise, mid day or golden hour. I like polar pro or singh ray, but i do own several tiffen filters. Nothing not manageable in post, though.
The body is nice durable metal, and the ring turns smoothly. Easy as pie to dial in the exact amount of nd i need. Feels well made and picture quality is excellent.
Cons
You have no control over where the white dot ends up on the circumference of the lens. This range covers about 60 degrees of the circumference. They say that all variable nd filters have this proble, and i should only use it zoomed way in.
Two corners of the image are significantly darker than the others. It leaves some kind of dark purple blotch in the entire center of my photos.
This filter is only useable at 2 to 5 stops. The transition from min to max is not consistent. It jumps to about 7 stops.
