Pros & Cons
Pros
If you're looking for an affordable variable nd filter this is probably your best high quality, entry level filter out there. Build quality is good and the bag it comes with is high quality. Physical glass is very strong and feels well made.
Mm variable neutral density filter. The rear part that screws into the camera lens is 58mm. Make sure to buy a larger size and buy adaptor rings to step it down to your lens.
The body is nice durable metal. The ring turns smoothly, making it easy as pie to dial in the exact amount of nd i need.
Cons
Dark areas on both sides of the image obscure significantly the image regardless of the exposure you use. If i zoom out to anything less than 70mm, it creates a weird x pattern of exposure on the image. Without the lens hood you can get horrible flare... Read More
You have no control over where the white dot ends up on the circumference of the lens. This range covers about 60 degrees of the circumference. All variable nd filters have this proble.
This filter is a waste of 90 bucks. Every time you take it out it tends to be full of static and lint. Almost unusable on the strongest end.
The transition from min to max is not consistent. When using the filter at its darkest setting, which is about 8 stops, i get horrible banding and vignetting.
