I consider this to be the weakest of the vorkosigan saga works not because it is poorly written or uninteresting but because of the numerous coincidences that are required to reassemble all of the major characters at the end of the story

The characters are strong and the story is compelling but some suspension of disbelief is required to accept those coincidences

Odd how the frantic action of battle can be just as engrossing the minor politics of settling into a backwoods military instillation

This series is my favorite of all time a flawed believable good guy realistic bad guys and a writing style that invites me to live in the vorkosigan world for a while
