I would not want it to be rigid just less compressible especially at the edges

These types of pillows are nice to have if you have pain coccyx or spinal issues but you should double check with your physician to see if heshe recommends utilizing this type of pillow

I think that the way in which it works is by keeping you slightly closer to the front of the chair basically in the middle of the chair while without it im tempted to sit more toward the back of the chair in a worst position for my back
