Elizabeth kolbert has a wonderful way of painting a picture and making technical topics approachable to a layperson. Kolbert discusses the zebra mussel in this regard. In it reside some 500 species of cichlid fish.
The book is a must read. The author ties to leave us with a glimmer of hope. Well written and disturbing book.
Slow at points; however, it picks up intermittently with fascinating bits of information. Book is slightly more dense, containing many scientific terms.
