I adore this series: a little bit different from the normal historical romance, not only do our couples have their own issues to overcome when it comes to declaring themselves, but they have the censure from society, a censure that could result in imprisonment and shame.

Poor julian: he’s so involved in maintaining the image of the perfect gentleman that he often misses the forest for the trees.

When julian’s sister requests he reform courtenay’s reputation, the game is on.

Oh this was fun: from the first tentative meeting through the gradual friendship that develops, confusing them both as each has their own unfamiliar territory to navigate.

Julian, thinking courtenay selfish and self-absorbed is also a touch jealous of his freedom and self-assured nature, his ability to not cringe at the judgment of others, even when it brings havoc.

I wasn't sure if i'd like this because i really didn't get on all that well with the first book, and the second book, while much better, still wasn't great for me.

    I will definitely re-read this.
