The book covers everything from growing your own garden to basic first aid. The book goes on to cover survival kits, bugging out vs. Staying safe in your home. It also covers the similarities and differences between survivalists and preppers.

It covers topics such as cognitive dissonance, situational awareness and operations security. Virtually of the knowledge & techniques work all over. That's something i stress at all my seminars.

Jim weaves basic survival tactics in with advanced long term sustainable survivable techniques. Jim dives into areas that other writers have long neglected. Jim has an enjoyable writing style and good information.

Cobb is a very knowledgeable and thoughtful writer who covers prepping topics that are most often not considered by others. Somehow cobb covers every topic thoroughly but without alarmist tendencies. Jim cobb always delivers.



Cons

If the world is in total chaos, it is okay to shine a flashlight in a deer's eyes. While likely true, there is no other mention of saving silver or gold in case the dollar goes bust. The editing is poor.
