    Yes, the world is one we've read before, the ivy league world of privilege and white fragility, but it's described with wonderful political slights and a fantastic awareness of sensual expression, especially olfactory nuances, which make what could have been a tired landscape, well, inviting and welcoming, even in the presence of such unlikeable characters.
