Pros

Best-selling book has been a go-to guide for healthy eating for more than a decade. Makes you realize how precarious our food supply is. Harmful and less harmful.

I encourage everyone to experience this book in it's fullest as an audiobook, as well as set the speed to. It is a good read regarding a subject that i feel everyone should be a bit more knowledgeable about.

The omnivore's dilemma is about the three core food chains that sustain us 1. Even the twinkies. The first two sections--explications of the symbiosis between corn and cattle should be required reading and taught in every elementary and high school in...  Read More

Cons

Michael pollan chooses to demonize the industrial agriculture system throughout the book. He weakly offers the solution as independent smaller farms utilizing a grass-based system versus the giant corporate machines utilizing a corn- based system.

The author is a vegetarian, but plans to hunt an unkosher pig.

Pollan chooses stories to fit an overarching reactionary thesis. The author doesn't write about vegetarian alternatives.

Michael pollan has a consistent ultra-leftward lean, but never admits that his or his subjects' views are not mainstream. Pollan insinuates a conspiratorial view of society.
