Not as pragmatic with guidance though to deal with a narcissist

The narcissist you know gives an eyeopening and engaging look at the dynamics underlying this perplexing and hurtful behavior

They are relentlessly driven to hide from these feelings by behaving in ways that make them feel like “winners” including bullying others and holding on stubbornly to an idealized image of themselves

One thing i didnt particularly like about the book was the core principle of extreme narcissists i understand dr burgos point that its a bit of a false dichotomy to split people into narcissists and normal as if normal people had no narcissistic tendencies at all but at some point when you water down the criteria for inclusion being a member of the club is pretty meaningless

For example theres a checklist that if you tick one or more boxes from different criteria thats you labelled as an extreme narcissist one of the categories says gets defensive when criticized not always gets defensive or gets extremely defensive just gets defensive

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Personally i think its human nature to get defensive when criticized so im reluctant to label everyone who does so as anything other than a flawed like everyone else human being
